Vintage 800 silver millefiori art Italian glass necklace pendant
Stunning piece. Wonderful oval millefiori art glass made by Italian artisans. Glass is beautifully prong set on both sides with 800 silver. Millefiori glass is created by fusing multiple colored glass rods into a single rod, then stretching and cutting the rod to reveal a flower-like pattern in the cross-section. These small, patterned glass pieces, called murrine, are then incorporated into larger glass objects, such as vases, bowls, or jewelry. Stamped "800" with a maker's mark.
