It has been skillfully crocheted in sturdy white cotton thread, with a contrasting pattern on the lacy border. It is surprisingly weighty. Age has inevitably resulted in repairs, but these are inconspicuous and do not detract from the impact of this lovingly constructed and well-preserved handwork.
